The Quiet Hours
Siobhan Dakay
The moment the mail with my secret mixter assignment came it was “celebration time”.
Susan has uploaded such a great repertoire - I could have picked up everything from it.
After digging through treasure full of gems the decision fell for “The Quiet Hours” originating from a collaboration with Timberman.
It is her second accapella ever uploaded to ccMixter in 2009 and after a few listens I knew what I wanted to do with it.
I leave all the details of what I did with the pella aside (would just bore you) but it is an extended amount of “repair” work going into it.
The harmonies with the piano were there coming of its own.
The complete setup is a homage to the 70s songwriters like Burt Bacharach, Roger Nichols and Paul Williams.
I have also uploaded a piano Version and the Instrumental.
Due to the restrictions the second mix - more of a jam nature - is not yet uploaded here. BUT I have used it here:
https://youtu.be/CauinT3XycM (hint: ccMixter needs your (or your friends) donation to survive. So please engage in social and link to the donation page)
BTW. one of Susan’s latest submissions here. ;-) - and hey it is Halloween !!!
Thank you Susan for all the good you have given here on ccMixter!
