Mars: Ancient Water Transmuted Iron
Used Melodyne Studio to create a polyphonic MIDI file for Iron to drive three Sampletank instruments: Resonator, Guzheng, and Pedal Steel. Modified the Iron MIDI file for each instrument and made one adjustment (deleted a note) for the vocals.
Used the MIDI file as a guide to create a bass track. Added some Ben Blohowiak notes (Bb, D and F).
Created a melodic Resonator riff for the outro.
The project started as a Resonator instrumental version of Iron. It morphed into a remix of Only Mars.
Decided to start the mix with the phrase “ancient water transmuted iron.” Words were extracted from three Snowflake pells to create the phrase. Afterwards more words from Only Mars were added until most of the pell was integrated into the mix.
